Boy Scout Troop 43, is the oldest scout troop in Woodford County, established in 1934. Troop 43 is proudly sponsored by the the Kiwanis Club of Versailles. Troop 43, like our charter organization, is seriously committed to making a difference in the Woodford County and the Versailles community. Scouts often participate in community service related activities and works to maintain the high standards expected of Boy Scouts.
Troop 43 holds weekly troop meetings on Monday nights from 7:00 PM till 8:30 PM at our Scout House. Following summer camp, the Troop will meet every other week during the summer months until school resumes. See the Troop Calendar for specific dates and times of all meetings and activities.
Troop 43 attempts to ensure one activity each month with the majority of the activities being camping trips and outings planned by the youth leadership. Every summer the troop spends a full week at one of the country’s top rated BSA Camps, McKee Scout Reservation, located in Eastern Kentucky, near Mount Sterling, KY.
Troop 43’s Adult Leadership and Troop Committee are strong proponents of the BSA’s Aims and Methods of Scouting. Troop 43 encourages the patrol method during our weekly meetings and in the planning and structure of our monthly camp outs.
